8 Days Uganda Primates Trekking Experience

Venture deep into Uganda’s ancient rainforests and encounter three of Africa’s great primates: chimpanzees, golden monkeys, and the legendary mountain gorillas on this once-in-a-lifetime trek.

Day 1 – Arrive in Entebbe

Land at Entebbe International Airport where our team welcomes you with warmth. After airport pickup, unwind at your lodge or explore the botanical gardens and local scenes in Entebbe.

Day 2 – To Kibale National Park

Drive west through Uganda’s tea estates and rolling highlands to Kibale Forest, home to over 1,500 wild chimpanzees. Settle in at the lodge nestled near the forest.

Day 3 – Chimpanzee Tracking

After breakfast, trek into Kibale’s tropical forest in search of wild chimps. Witness their behavior and energy up close. Later, visit Bigodi Wetlands for birding and local community encounters.

Day 4 – Transfer to Bwindi via Ishasha Sector

Journey through Queen Elizabeth National Park’s remote southern plains. Stop for a chance to see the famed tree-climbing lions of Ishasha before arriving in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

Day 5 – Gorilla Trekking

Today is the highlight: gorilla trekking. With your ranger guide, hike deep into the forest to find a habituated gorilla family. Once found, you’ll get to observe them for a full hour. An unforgettable experience.

Day 6 – Golden Monkey Trek in Mgahinga

Travel to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Trek into the bamboo forests to find the playful and rare golden monkeys. Their energy and speed through the trees are mesmerizing.

Day 7 – Scenic Drive to Lake Mburo

Drive toward Lake Mburo National Park, a scenic savannah known for zebra, giraffe, and antelope. Enjoy a nature walk or evening game drive before your final night in the wild.

Day 8 – Return to Entebbe

After breakfast, return to Entebbe with a lunch stop at the equator. Reflect on your extraordinary journey with Uganda’s primates as you head to the airport.
